Ok the rear parking sensors are now working. I have hooked up a trailer to my Superb and get the constant bleep when reversing.

My question is how do you suggest I disconnect the parking sensors when I have a trailer in tow. Now many people may say how many times do you reverse a trailer?

I do tow a trailer tent and do quite a lot of reversing when on my annual long haul to south of france. When trying to concentrate and reverse the bleep does get annoying!

Do I take fuse out or connect a switch somewhere between feed to control box?

Any suggestion would be welcome.

I have the reversing sensors wired so that you have to select reverse gear and have the rear fog lamps on to activate the sensors. Most of the time when you are reversing you don't need them and the noise annoys me. I don't use the sensors when towing.

Hi all, any idea where the control box is for the rear parking sensors, Im struggling to find it, I too tow and the bloody things are a pain when hooked up to my caravan, I want to put a key switch on the 12v power to turn it of when I hook my caravan up so any extra advice would be nice also, Cheers

Yes the control box is behind the side carpet on the right hand side of the boot. I think this idea is good but a lot of effort to do!

Rotodiesel idea is excellent but as a district nurse I need my sensors more often than towing.

My solution is going to be....drum roll.......remove the no 9 fuse!

The fuse does not power anything else and I only tow my Trailer tent for about 6 days in 365. So thats my solution, no wiring or messing around removing carpets.

I have a tow bar fitted and the sensors switch off when the 12s plug is in. It was programmed by the fitting dealer

I pulled this fuse and yes whilst it did disable the parking sensors the fuse identity card had the emblem for the heated mirrors on it and not the parking sensors, same with the hand book!
