fault code help please

Featured Replies

I have just bought a Gendan fault code reader and plugged it in to my 1.9 tdi octy and was pleased to see that there was only one fault code logged . The code in question is 17970- quantity adjuster n146 upper stop valve. I have cleared the fault and to date it has not returned. Can anyone tell me the cause of the aforementioned code?

thanks in advance Dave.

Hope that it doesn't return. I encountered this code on a V6 diesel Audi that wouldn't start - it required a new fuel pump at not much change from a £1000.

:eek::eek::eek: eek,i hope not.I dont know how long the code has been logged, but i have no cel light and the car runs superbly with no starting or performance issues. The only time it has nearly stalled on tickover was when i was adjusting the tuning box on my car because you have to turn the adjuster until the engine hesitates/stalls,and then turn out the screw.Could this have been logged as a fault even though it did not put the cel light on?

It's a bit coincidental as that Audi had a tuning box as well. It belongs to the wife of a dent removal man who we have been using for years at work. I told him that it was a bit greedy having a tuning box on a V6.
