Interior boot lights in VRS estate not working!

Featured Replies

Hi guys, this may well be a quickie for someone thats had this issue before but Ive just realised that my interior boot lights dont come on when the boot is opened.

Ive spent the last 15 minutes trying to find the cars user manual to work out what fuse it may be but I cant find the darn thing. Im assuming its a fuse thats gone

Any help would be appreciated,

Lee

Check that the contact switch isn't stuck in as that happened on mine (although mines a hatch not an estate) Quick spray with something or other by the dealers sorted it and its not happend since.

If you have VCDS do a scan as that should show up if something was wrong.

It's fuse no.15 aswell in the dash panel that controls the interior lights

Found fuse no.

I had this happen on my hatch, had to have a new latch as the switch was knackered. The lock/unlock doors button in between the front seats would light up. If, you closed the boot having unlocked/opened it using the key when the car was locked.

Ah, where's the contact switch for the boot light as I had a quick look for it the other day and couldn't immediately see it, and can you switch it off as I could in my golf? (it had a little nick in it that let you 'lock' it, for want of a better word, that made the circuit believe the boot was still shut so the light didn't come on.)

Before you say anything, i'm about 250 miles away from my car right now so can't just have a better look in it or in the manual. Just assuming you guys know straight away where it is as you've already worked on it.
