Good evening all. I am now the proud owner of a 2005 1.8t Vrs. It is due a 60k service & also a new timing belt & waterpump. The car is running perfectly at the moment so I don't want to take it to a dodgy garage. Can anyone recommend a good garage in the Walsall/ Birmingham/ Cannock area please. I was going to take it to Autosales Cannock but have read some bad reviews about the place. I have heard good things about a place called Midland VW in Cannock, can anyone recommend this garage? Your help is much appreciated.

If you are local to Midland VW take it in. Jody (male) owns and runs the place, nice fella.

They won't rip you off and will do a better job than Autosales ever would.

Don't forget their initial quote may not seem much cheeper that the dealers but will include a full Vag-Com scan, road test etc etc.

If you do take it there depending on how long they will take i can tell you of the local pubs as there aint much else here in sunny Norton Canes lol.

Gave Midland VW a call & got it booked in for next friday. Full service, timing belt, tensioners, metal waterpump, coolant & new brake fluid for £425 all in. Sounds like a bargain to me, as Autosales quoted me £540 & the Skoda dealers quoted £660. The chap I spoke to seemed very genuine & knew more about the waterpump problem then the Skoda dealers. The Skoda dealer asked me why I wanted to change the waterpump, said it didn't need replacing, even at a 60k service!!!

There really isn't much to do/see mate.

There is the Turf pub within walking distance on the main A5 island thats ok to chill out in or if your a walking kind of chap you could take a stroll to chasewater.

Alternatively i will leave my key under the mat and just help youself :eek:
