Rns-510

Featured Replies

Is it possible to fit a RNS-510 in a Fabia II -08? I know that it fits but will everything work?

Do I need a converter for the CAN BUS?

Haven´t found any information about if someone has done this.

Dan

Fitted a RNS510 in wifeys Roomster Scout. Needed an extra antenna (for the diversity, fitted a modded Autofun), a GPS antenna (bought a triplex antenna) and a CAN converter (adapter).

It isnt working well yet, still in contact with RossTech to try some different coding. What it does do is, it shows you where you are, it can calculate routes and the audio system is working.

But it doesnt tell me where to go, no announcements and it doesnt recalculate if you take another route.

Dont know yet what is actually wrong, but I hope RossTech will find something out.

Otherwise I will take it out again and put it on the shelf in the garage

My problem is that the unit has been fitted in a Octavia Scout -08 and that car had a Soundsystem fitted.

I´m not able to connect to the unit with VAG-COM and change the parameters to no soundsystem and 4 speakers. Is it possible to connect to it with the CAN converter? Wich converter did you buy?

Dan

I bought an adapter from Kufatec. It provides the navi with parameters as speed, off when the key is taken out etc.

To reconfigure your RNS you will need to do that in the Octavia, but you will need VCDS for that.

My RNS in the roomy can not be accessed, all I could do is change the parameters for the hidden menu. (that is why I saw that the CAN speed is seen by the RNS).
