Iphone - ipod connector?

Featured Replies

Guys probably in the wrong forum but this is where i'm told all the cool cats hang out.

One of the first things i'm hoping to do when picking up the car this weekend is some how fit a connector to the standard radio where I can play my iPhone through it. I was hoping that I could also get it to charge it aswell.

I saw a while back that some guys had an alternative to the ash tray in the form of an extra cup holder? Has anyone got something along the lines of a docking station there instead?

Pictures would be helpfull or a link to a previous thread? I did try searching (i promise) but couldn't find what I was looking for.

Cheers dudes!!!

The cheapest way to get the ipod through the std radio is called a Dension ice Link - I fit loads of them through my work!

Its just a craddle with a controller, clips onto the earth, live 7 switched live, goes through the radio ariel and you tune the radio to 87.7 the Ipod tunes come through there. but the iphone needs the latest updates to let it charge at the same time - think its a version 3 software update??

Cost £70 fitted at most Halfords, but you can do it yourself with radio removal tools and a set of pliers to crimp the scotchlock connectors onto the wires!

next way is to buyt the genuine cable from Skoda, not sure on cost!

next one up from that is an iO Play kit which is a handfree kit with a Bluetooth donkle - £150 and its easy to fit yourself with very few tools!

Cool, so is there a way of combining the cradle and use it as a handsfree as well then with the bluetooth option?

Afraid not - its either one or the other!
