Skoda superb Timing belt help

Featured Replies

Hi guys.

Can anyone here help me out? I took my car to a mechanic to change the timing belt and he couldn't find the data for my car in the autodata manual. I tried myself to look it up on the net but there isn't anything about my type of car in the autodata manual.

My car is:

Skoda Superb

1.8T

2004

What "data" do you need? Euro Car Parts sell Continental (OE) belt kits; fitting is exactly the same as for the equivalent model/year Passat.

If anything, the Superb is a bit easier than the Passat as you don't have to remove the grille and dismantle the bonnet secondary catch. Some of the front carrier fixings are a little bit different on the Superb but it's all straightforward. I use M8 studding, nuts and blocks of wood to hold the lock carrier in the "service" position. This holds it more firmly than the VAG tool does.
