lil' perfomance Q..

Featured Replies

hi folks. after carefull consideration and reading on here i've decided i'm goin to part with my cash on a furby vrs. however i have a dilemma as my gf has just bought a clio 182 (0-60mph = 6.9sec) and my fragile male ego refuses to let me have a slower car :D so i'm wondering if theres some one a lil more clued up than my self who could give me a good idea of how many ponies it would need to keep up or out do the lil french thing. first mods will def be focusing on brakes n handling tho :)

A remap should see you closer to the mark :D

handling wise you WONT even be close! the 182s are brilliant round the twisties, my standard vrs puts up a good fight in a straight line against my mates 172 so remapped should have an edge on one id say. The old clio williams are about the same as a 182.

yeah think i'd expect it to b quicker round the corners. had a look n its about 200kg lighter and wider too. long as i had enough speed to beat her in a straight line all is peachy :D not sure how the power to weights would compare tho.. hmmm.

Just laugh every time the clio breaks down :D

Thing you need to look at is the drivers.

No disrespect to you, or your gf, but if she cant drive for toffee, you will keep up. If she can drive and you can drive, your going to need a good remap. If she can drive and you cant, nothing on earth is going to help your fat *** fabia keep up!

I've raced a friend who has a 182. It was close, but the furby stays ahead :)

Pulled away from a Clio 182 from a round about 30-70

But would kill you from standing and round corners

Interesting as the 172 is actually a quicker car I believe? Due to weight.

However this being said I did the same, pulled away from a 182 off a roundabout, however even from a standing start, we were actually neck and neck. So either..

He couldnt drive in a straight line

I rag my car within a each of its life when I had a stage 1 map :D

I would say the 0-60 time of a remapped pd130 fabia/ ibiza is around 7-7.2 seconds

In gear is faster.

He couldnt drive in a straight line

Ahhh the good old boy is back. Its not hard to race in a straight line. I bet my 15 year old cousin could do that....

A decent remap that you want, would be one around 165bhp unless you want to blow your standard turdo, so doubt you'll keep up unless you spend some big bucks

Wait until the new one comes out, guy in skoda said its a 1.4T maybe

a decent map of about 165bhp? erm, theres plenty about running 170-180bhp without blowing turbos is there not?

Ahh the optemistic maps... sorry

erm..........ooooook, now im confused, how can something be optimistic if its been tested on RRs?

Ahh the optemistic maps... sorry
well mines been confirmed on 2 sets of rollers now so not really optimistic, more realistic i would say
