New Fabia owner, slight misfire ??

Featured Replies

Hey all, I picked up a 51 plate Fabia yesterday, 1.4 MPi engine. Love it to bits, but there is a little issue.

When idling, the revs drop slightly and the engine will have a wobble, it does this when hot and cold. It also does it when going up the revs, as if it sort of cuts out for a microsecond, then keeps going.

I have just tonight put some injector cleaner in it, but I dont think that is it. Does anyone have any ideas?

I love the car so much, I own a BMW Mini and the skoda even tho its almost 10 years old wins every time, such a cool car!

when was it last serviced?

The throttle body might be clogged up.

Take it out and give it a clean.

It may need re-adapted one taken out.

Just dont switch on your ignition when its out.

Other option may be a coolant temperature sensor but sounds more like the throttle body needing a clean.

hi there, can you point me in the direction as to where this is? So I can give it a clean? many thanks for your reply!

Cant remember for sure where it is.

Does the airbox sit in the middle of the 1.4's?

If so take off the airbox and you will see the throttle body, 4 allan key bolts hold it in place and there will be a mulitplug you will need to disconnect aswell.

Could it be the Lambda sensor? I dont know what half of this stuff is im just going by what I read online :)

It could be many things.

Could be a lambda sensor.

Most common thing with the 1.4's is the throttle body or coolant temperature sensor though.

I had this same problem with my 1.4 mk4 golf. Used to judder and cut out.

Cleaned the throttle body and re-adapted it (using vag-com, or the like) and had no problems after that.
