felicia ign switch

Featured Replies

just bought a felicia 13 off fle bay . ign switch has fell apart steering lock is on wont start with hot wiring it . if i get another switch of a scrapper is it just a case of fitting it or do i have to put my imo ring on too it . or switch the chip in the key or if i get the lock off how can i get it too run . needs moving this weekend

The key was snapped in the lock in mine, AFAIK you must keep the same key with the same lock (and immobilizer gubbins) so I have a "doors" key and a "go forward key" hope that helps at all? :)

he still has the key and all bits , but the are in bits . just thought that if i get new one take apart swop the imo bit for the origanal it will go , then i can smash steering lock off, bobs your auntie

As I understand it the immobilizer ring and computer will only read a particular set of keys, so if you just swap it (ring + comp) you must use the set of keys that belongs to it... then the key wouldn't turn in the ignition at all though, so while smashing the lock would let you steer you'd still need switches to start the engine etc etc etc....

better to replace it all and have two keys IMHO. :)

You could just tape up the immo ring with the old key in it behind the dash, and use the replacement key and switch to start it, Either that or swop the chip from the old key to the new one
