how do i reset is it a dealer only thing? (i have vagcom)

Is it just the light on your dash. Pretty sure if you drive the car above 2000rpm for 10 minutes or so it should activate the regen process and clear the warning. I know a dealer can activate this on there machines as well.

problem is now its in safe mode!

Do you get the glow plug light on the dash aswell. I'm pretty sure you can try to attempt to force it into the regen cycle even tho it is on limp home but i'm sure someone will be along to confirm.

How old is the car/milage and what sort of driving do you do? how many miles on an average trip? have you had the 26E6 map and pressure sensor campaign done? The more info you give the better we can help

If the DPF is VERY clogged you might not be able to clear it yourself as well, and you will need to take it to skoda (or someone with vag-com) to clear the fault. The DPF might be fooked as well.

That unfortunately is a dealer visit.

car is 2 year old, 23k, short useage, havent had any campaigns done!

so it def has to go to dealer?

You might want to find out about the 26E6 map and upgraded exhaust presure sensor. The TDi doesn't like short journeys i'm afraid due to the car not getting a chance to clear the DPF. Do search of the forums to see what you can find about activating the regen cycle although, yes I do believe you might need a little trip to Skoda. I wouldn't have imagined it would cost too much, but you never know. While your there you can ask about the new map and sensor as well.
