Which brake discs/pads do I need?

Featured Replies

Hi Guys,

My wife's '55 plate Octy 4x4 TDI estate is in need of new discs and pads all round.

Which type do I need and do I need pads with wear indicators??

Thanks in advance for the info. Also, any good + cheap suppliers out there? Would like to put some branded stuff on like mintex or similar.

Cheers,

Dan

where abouts you from mate? you will have a local car branch that should be able to help you out. How much are you looking to pay?

I live in Aberdeen.

A mate of mine bought some front/rear dics and pads for his Audi A4 1.9TDI about 3 months ago and he paid £50 for the lot but I am getting no reply from the place he got his from....

tht sounds cheap, were they a good make? not sure what auto suppliers are in your area. just give it a google and ring around.

Mintex apparently

I'd have a look at GSF.

FWIW there is no way you would get decent discs and pads all around for £50 unless there is something dubious.

For a MK I Octy TDI, Brembo discs and Mintex pads all around came to just under £150 from GSF.
