help needed

Featured Replies

I am trying to fit my new coil overs on to my VRS, would i need new top mounts? or could some one tell me how they could fit as the thread doesnt seem to be long enough to screw the nut back on.

Help needed ASAP as the car is on the ramps now.

Thanks

Michael

Std top mounts should fit on, what make are they?

TA Technix coilovers with helper springs. The ta technix ones with the cap on top.

but the shock thread will not go through the top mount aswell as the cap.tatechnixpf3.jpg

I would have thought you need to either compress the springs or lower the car down......

the thread is about an inch too short to go though both the silver cone shape cap and the top mount as the top cap wont go any lower even comperssing the springs as it hits the damper rod

Hello mooragerx7,

Is the shock-absorber fully extended (central rod with thread-end) ??

If this only slighly depressed it will not poke through all the upper cap fittings and enable you to fit nut.

If it fitted BEFORE adding coil-overs when fully compressed (unless coil-overs too long) should allow shock-absorber shaft to poke through. as stated prior my entry. ??

Good-luck. Ian. 20/05/2009
