Nissan Tiida???

Featured Replies

Hi all,

I was browsing one of the main dealer websites in scotland and came accross the Nissan Tiida, which I had never heard off, so I googled the Nissan Website and found out that Nissan don't produce the car for the UK Market as far as I am aware, it is quite popular in South Africa.

The car in question does not look anything special looks like a rehashed almera but I was under the impression that the Quashqai took over the almera and primera in one go.

So I'm wondering if the car is not availble on the UK market who can such a big dealer chain sell these cars as nearly new?

AFAIK, they're under no obligation to sell cars sourced from Nissan UK - they can import vehicles from anywhere.

The Tiida is also sold in Ireland, so that might be where they're importing them from...

(edit)

from wikipedea

Although not yet officially offered for sale through Nissan's UK dealer network, in early 2009 the Scottish Arnold Clark Group[1] began importing the Tiida independently. Sales began in March 2009.

Looks like it's competitors.

It's called the Tiida in Japan too. We had one as our hire car last time we were there, complete with sat-nav in Japanese :)

Think we had one as a hire car saloon in Brisbane a couple of years ago. Basically looked a bit like a Micra saloon, but the two suitcases went into the deep boot pretty easily so was quite impressed.

Not much guts from the engine but it did the job. (Previous hire car in NZ was a big rav4 so was always going to feel underpowered.

Was reading paper today and yet another Nissan I've not heard of called the Pixo, part of the big dealer campaign to the scrappage scheme, smaller than a micra and looks like a baby Note, looks a nice wee car for young drivers and people wanting to take advantage of a economical car on the scrappage scheme.
