lumpy accelaration, and a clicking sound

Featured Replies

toay the car started and drove 100% for about 40mins, then had complete lack of acceleration which cleared up after about 2 mins, i then got home and had a nose around under the bonnet and cant find any loose connections hoses etc etc, but i'm getting a clicking noise from the solonoid?? or whatever it is by the dump valve, is this causing the problem??

sorry for what may be a simple query but this is my first 1.8t engine, if this was a vr6 i would know 100% what the problem was/is

That is your N75 but I can't say I've ever heard mine click

It controls the turbo wastegate.

You really need the fault code read. If it is knackered you may have an overboost code which can clear up after a couple of minutes driving, but get the codes read.

If the N75 is clicking then it may be active causing the turbo to not spool up giving no boost.!

If it is faulty I may be selling either my N75F(standard one) or N75J next week (need to do some logs and decide which one to keep :D) but best to get the codes read first to be sure..

well the n75 valve on my car is totally dead:rotz: its not boosting at all and i swapped it onto a mates mk4 1.8t and that then did not boost.

so this question goes to karlbar2k, have you decided which n75 valve you are keeping?? i would be very intrested in purchasing one off you.

also i have been told that fitting a n75j onto a non mapped car can sometimes cause the car to go into limp mode, is this true??

cheers
