VRS rear electric windows?

Featured Replies

as many of you will know i'm looking for a fabia vrs.

i've searched for the answers and can't find any info really so hopefuly i'm not killing no catzz.

was there any spec of vrs that has rear electric windows?

and if not has anybody done it and put in the switches etc..

cheers guys.

I think rear leccy's were on the elegances but not on any of the VRS's

Although possibly adding the correct fuses and swapping the doors/door inards would work!?

Someone with adequate knowledge will be along shortly!

I thought the only cars with rear electric windows were sold in Europe, and that no UK cars had them.. could be wrong though!

Elegance models did have electric rear windows but they were dropped after 2001MY

No UK Fabia vRS came with elec rear windows from the factory as , as far as I am aware , they were not even on the extra cost option list. The only Mk1 Fabia that came with rear elec windows was the Elegance , and that was only till about 2003 when they were dropped from the spec.

Looks like i'll have to install them then.

polo 5 door switches? and to remove the handle maybe a full leather retrim :D

can't wait, it's sooooo close. test driving a lot atm. :P

Don't forget to seal those door carriers after all your hard work ;)

Not really worth the effort of retro-fitting, surely?

I'd quite like electric rear windows as sometime I knock the winder handles just a fraction and the first you know about it is when you're doing 35mph and you're thinking "What's that whistling noise?" and then you have to stop and just tighten the window back up.

The electric ones wouldn't get knocked and if they did then you could just power them back up.

It's not just the switches and electric motors reqd. You will need all the wiring routed to the rear doors and drivers doors as well. How much spare time do you have?

:iagree:

It would make your car unique i guess but do you carry rear passengers that often?

and when you do are they too lazy to use windy windows?

I must admit I miss rear leccy windows. Sometimes I rather windows down than air con, and I was always nice being able to drop the rears at the flick of a switch

You could always take the winders off and keep one in the lower glove box if needed?

the windows are there to be opened, whats the point if you have to climb into the back to have some free flowing air, also doing 40mph and trying to put down rear windows will be scary..

it was just an idea i though i could do, i'm sure that the mk6/7 polo 5 doors came with rear leccy windows so i could basicaly just get the loom and stuff from one of them? can't be that hard :P

I don't think it would be very hard at all for someone who knows what they are doing. I'll get Unit 18 on it for mine right away!

Hardest part will be finding rear door cards without a hole for manual handle, and hole for electrics.

Does anybody know if the rear polo/ibiza door cars are a straight ISH fit?

If you had the door cards retrimmed you could cover the hole.

Might be much easier to make the hole for the cables and get some kind of trim matching cap for the hole left by the winder?

I have a friend in Slovakia getting me a price on the door cards as they were available there.

You're no doubt looking to be here really. Not clear if you want to be in a 'for sale' bit or 'free stuff'.
