Brilliant dealer service received.

I know we are all quick to mention when we recieve poor dealer service but just to add some balance to that I'd thought I'd past up my experiences with Palmers Skoda of Watford.

After a diagnosis of a failed A/C valve and dodgey interior boot light wiring a few weeks ago, I returned for the warranty work to commence today (this was my earliest convenient date).

Result - took the car in today for the work on the A/C and boot light to be carried out.

TOP CLASS ATTITUDE, VERY FRIENDLY AND A GREAT QUALITY OF WORK is all I can say about them.

Brand spanking new Superb supplied for my courtesy car today, my car was started soon after it was dropped off at 9 and by 2.30 I had the call to say it was all done.

Upon arrival I found the car being cleaned! Had a quick chat with the technician that did the warranty work and he mentioned that he did a full diagnostics scan of the car to ensure there were no issues. He found that the Columbus unit had not been correctly coded for the car and even though he sussed I'd added this later on (ie it wasnt part of the factory order) he did the appropriate coding and did me a print off to show what had been done. He also noticed that the aftermarket exhaust system tail pipe was slightly off centre so he corrected this when it was on the ramp! (a noticeable improvement!)

Just as I was about to leave, I mentioned that I had some new sidelight bulbs and was after any tips on how to do them as I'd tried, unsuccesfully, to reach them the previous weekend. Literally within 10 minutes he had both the headlight units out, new bulbs in and finally headlamp units back in place and tested.

All this F.O.C. (although I insisted he took a small drink!)

Simply the best dealers/service dept I have ever had the fortune to deal with. As such I know where I'l be buying my next Skoda!

ps - I'm in no way affiliated or associated with the dealership - im just very impressed that there is still a dealership out there that puts the customer first and doesnt loose interest once they've sold you the car. :o

Shame they aint all like that

Good review there Lee:thumbup:

May see if i can get my Columbus checked and Exhaust checked if ever passing through Watford

yay

Wow that is amazing service, bordering on the unbelievable given my experiences. If they treat all customers like that they deserve to be an extremely successful dealership.

Thats where I bought my car from. Can't fault them. Think I may have said about them on here before.

Impressive Lee, nice find

And yes, you're right - always good to hear of good service and that you've taken the time to write about it :)

Do this dealer have a review section on here? Might also be worth copying this/linking it there, if so...

Big thumbs up for them from me too - haven't had to take my car in, but have dealt with them when buying a very small part (costing literally a couple of quid) - they couldn't have been more helpful, making sure they ordered the right part, making sure it would arrive for a certain day, so my 30 mile trip wasn't wasted. When I got there was greeted with a friendly smile and welcome, the part was there and thy rechecked it was right for the car too.

A complete contrast to 2 nameless London dealers who tbh gave the impression they couldn't give a monkeys - one wouldn't even look the part up on the system without the VIN number (despite my argument the reg was enough to identify the exact model of car), and the other well, just rude. What these guys seem to forget is that people look at this kind of poor service in bad light when it comes to choosing where to get your car serviced and where you buy a replacement from

Good to know there are some Skoda dealers who provide a good customer experience. My experience of my three local dealers is dire, to say the least. If its one thing that would put me off buying another Skoda it would be the dealers.

Nice that you got a comparable car as a courtesy, I dropped my Octy vRS off for a service and was handed the keys to a fabia greenline covered in advertising telling everyone just how economical it was.

Well, that's two Dealers fairly local to me that I've seen provide a great service. Maybe if more people frequent these types of dealer, then those that are found wanting won't be around much longer unless they step up their game. Good service is not old fashioned, it's a sign of pride.

Glad you're pleased with Palmers (my surname actually, but I'm not linked to them I swear by Willis's, but it's nice to see some good competition.). Let the battle commence. hehe.
