Hi all trading in my passat on saturday for a 55 plate 2 litre tdi elegance any faults you can advise on that affect these cars.Have read threads in the octavia 2 section and can't believe how many of you have had problems with your cars.Thanks for your help.

I recently traded in my 05 plate of the same car (but an estate). I did not have any problems with it unlike the VW I now have which with 3000 miles has had 3 returns to the garage for faults. I've not given up on Skoda as my wife has a Fabia vrs and my two sons also have a Fabia vrs.

Even though the diesel is of the older type and is a bit noisy (as opposed to the newer CR which is appearing on certain cars) , I would recommend the Octavia as a good blend of abilities and kit.
