Off topic Polo headlamp question

Sorry this is off topic and I've not posted for ages - wondered whether anyone had any experience fitting the dipped beam bulb into to a Polo IV (9N). It's the one with two round headlamps.

I've tried changing this a couple of times on this car and I can never quite get the bulb to seat right (i.e. properly centrally) in the socket. Have enough access to manipulate the bulb, just can't quite figure out how it fits.

Any tips?
