Turbo Part Number

Featured Replies

Hi everyone,

I've been a forum lurker since I got my Skoda, I should probably post more than just when I have a problem.

Anyway, a problem it is, and I would like to know if anyone could give me the part number for my turbo without having to take it out?

It's a 2001 Octavia 1.9 TDi (110 bhp) with chassis number: TMBBP21UX12502831

Cheers

I've actually found this written down somewhere on the bits of paper that came with the car. Does it sound right?

03G 253 014E

I believe it should be a garrett turbo. Google Midland Turbo in Nottingham, I'm sure they have the turbo model listed on their website.

What's the problem with the turbo. Is your car going into limp mode by any chance? If so it is likely to be the sticky turbo problem (search on here for sticky turbo) and you don't need a new turbo you can clean it out, or get someone to do it for you.

It is the limp mode problem, and thanks to these forums I'm aware of the strong possibility of sticky vanes but mechanic is adamant that the vanes are fine.

Correct turbo part number is 038 253 019N for a new unit or 038 253 019NX for a exchange unit.

Essex Turbos website says:

Part: GT1749V Part No: 454232-2/6 OEM: 038253019D Engine Code: ASV

Universal says:

Part: GT1749V Part No: 454232-0011 OEM: 038253019D Engine Code: ASV

Midland Turbo says:

Part: GT1749V Part No: 454232-2/6 OEM: 038253019D Engine: ASV

I do know the engine is ASV. This has me confused. Looks like the only way to find out for sure will be to get it out again.

Edit: Thanks Cupra_Matt, that's fairly close to what the websites are saying then.

Nope, correct part number is one i quoted, comes directly from Etka according to you chassis number.

The above part number is listed, but is for a earlier chassis number. Not for your car. May still fit, but garentee's

Get it refurbed rather than buy new - just make sure they are reputable.

There are a few guys on here that do it.. sure they will make themselves known.

Thanks all, I'll trust in the Etka number.
