Hi can anyone help?

My gf has a 95 felicia and the reversing lights have stopped working. Ive checked the bulbs and fuses and they are all fine.

I have recently fitted a new stereo as the old one wasn't working , and have noticed that there are 4 sets of speaker wires but only 2 speakers. Could this have something to do with the problem , and if so how can i resolve it.

p.s. the old stereo has been thrown away.

The 4 sets of speaker wires will be unrelated to the reversing light (will just be put in there for models that have rear deck speakers).

The reversing switch is underneath the transmission. The wiring connectors will make it obvious when you look underneath. If you join the two wires together and put the ignition key in the on position and the lights come on then the problem lays somewhere with the switch. Check the bulbs aren't double filament ones.

Also, it's not unknown for the switch actuator to bend and not make the contact. Try wiggling the gearlever about in reverse (easiest with ignition on, engine not running).
