Squeak rattle and role

Featured Replies

Has anyone else had squeak/rattle noises from the radiator and ac condensor on there tavias? Everytime i slam the door on mine it chirps back at me and it's begining to bug me a little.. Also squeaks like hell on rough roads.

Real question here is how's the rad mounted to the front tub - i don't have a book of lies and it's raining so not really in the mood for riping the car apart till i know what i'm looking at.

Any sugestions?

My skoda dealer refuses to fix this under waranty as they say its an adjustment not a faulty part!!! grrrrrrrrr

Had this problem on my 2 day old car during the hot weather, took it to the dealer and he showed me what it was. The way it was cured was to spray the four mounting lugs with some spray on "all in one oil with PTFE" available from Halfords, did this my self as the dealer only had WD40, has been fine ever since. If you need any more info on where the mounting lugs are let me know. Have a full tin of spray oil if you live near Rugby :D

Mine had it, but it was because the mounts had worn out. Rplaced under warranty.

find a new dealer?

they dont sound too good.. or get your spanners out.......

Had some funny squeaks from that area, but the dealer sorted it as it only started the day I picekd it up.

Do have an annoying buzzing noise from the headlining though, has anyone else had this problema nd got any ideas on how to fix it. If i push the area it stops

Yep, I have the same buzzing noise from the headlining... it's been there since day one. I think my sub-conscious has blocked it out at this stage, but notice it the odd time. I "fix" it by turning the stereo up.... :)

Cool i'd be intrested to know what lugs i have to spray but sure i can have a day of pulling apart :-)

The head lining in mine rattled too but i cured that in mine by pulling off the back passenger grab handle and puting a bit of foam in the head lining took about 20 mins and very easy. Again my dealer refused to fix this :finger:

Was going to try dealer in swindon anyone have any feed back on these guys??

When I took delivery of my Fabia (March 2002) I had the same problem. I have a sun roof, which may be something to do with it. It sounded slightly squeaky, as if some bonding had failed. The dealer had to take out the headlining and pack it out. There's no visible difference and it's been OK ever since/

No need to pull anything apart, open bonnet, radiatotor has four metal pins/lugs sticking out of it, two at each side. They are a bit awkward to get to, but a can of "all in one oil with PTFE" and the straw attached, you should be able to lubricate the four lugs easily. Once done move the rad from side to side a few times to allow the lubricant to work. If you ned any advice while doing this give me a call, can pm you my mobile number.

Had the headlining rattle and used the foam rick as well :D
