I guess it's about time I introduced myself!

Hi everyone,

I'm over here just outside Northampton, work as a web designer/tech guy for a local publishing company and am pretty new to driving even though I'm about 15 years behind the curve when it comes to learning to drive, never really needed a car to get to work, even though I have owned a few over the years.

First: A mini in brown (dysentry beige as I called it) with a 1275 engine, owned that when I was 17 fixed it up, bit of filler here and there and painted checkers on the roof with my dad using a paintbrush! (results were suprisingly good) and fitted a custom made wooden dash.

Second: My baby, a 1969 VW Beetle 1500 with dealer fitted rag-top roof, I loved that car and spent hundreds on it only to end up selling it for £100 as I had to move fast , brought tears to my eyes seeing it being trailored away and not just because of the money!

Third: Fiesta Classic Quartz 1.1, fun little car if a bit gutless and it was the first car I actually got to drive properly, only passed my test at the end of last year.

Well as some of you already know I got my self a 1996 Felicia LXi which I must say I'm very happy with so far even though I have had a few teething troubles since getting it about 3 weeks ago.

So far i have:

Taken in for new clutch (not needed, see next! Woohoo!)

Fitted a new clutch cable (from Jorily, helpful and speedy delivery)

New Air Filter

Oil Change and Oil Filter

New Spark Plugs (the old ones weren't a matching set and some had the wrong type of washer thing)

Parcel shelf straps (had string when i got it!)

Now she runs much better!

Must say the car is pretty fun to drive and has a bit more heart than my fiesta and even my 1500 bug! Though this weekend will be the real test as I'm going on holiday in it to the Isle of Wight so a bit of a trek with another passenger and associated luggage!

Been on here since just before buying the car and have found the site to be full of useful information and informative people, hope to be sticking around for a while and may get to meet some of you lot if I get over to the National Meet in July as its not too far from me.

So there you go!

Rich

Hello and Welcome to Briskoda :D

Hello mate.

I can understand your attachment to the Beetle; there's just something about them.

Hello :)
