Snow foam-best mix??

Featured Replies

I purchased an HD lance for my Karcher about a month ago, with some Super Snow Foam, and CG Maxi Suds II. I have tried different mixes of both the products, the best I have found so far is about 50/50 ratio of both in the bottle up to 1cm in the bottom, topped up with warm water, with the valve about 80%+ Trouble is, the foam while good, does`nt seem to dwell as well as some pics I`ve seen. What is the best mix, or what are you using right now?

I have the Elite snow foam lance.

I put about 2cms of Megs APC in, and about 4 cms or so of Snow foam, then top up with water.

I find it clings excellent

I'm sure others have different combos that work well also.

Cheers

Added correct info

I wouldn't use APC on a normal foaming wash, as it would start to break down any wax protection.

I have the large Elite foam lance (foams much better than the std Karcher one) and put 2cm of Snow Foam in, and then I have a bottle of diluted shampoo (about 3:1 with water) that I add to the top. That seems to create a good mix, that hangs on for a while :)

Steve, I know what your saying about the wax protection.

I forgot to say I only do this every few months before applying fresh wax.

I don't use snow foam everytime I wash the car, mainly just before a proper detailing session.

I also have an Elite lance i put around 2cm of foam in around 1/2 bottle topped up with warm water i dont put anything else in there , i foam the car and wash the wheels while it dwells and then turn the lance down and rinse the car with thinner soapy snow foam solution until it runs out

I find if the car is really dirty and doesnt have any wax one the snow foam clings well but if the car is cleanish with a wax or lsp left on the foam slides off but thats what its meant to do after all

Thanks for all them, I`ll be playing again and trying different mixes soon:)

Snow foam at about 1.5 - 2 " with a top up of about .5" poorboys super slick and suds... mixed to top with warm water...

I use that same lance and 1l chemical bottle and I get perfectly acceptable foam with 1 depression (30ml) of the Pelikan dispenser on my big cannister of Megs Hyperwash. Topped up full that's roughly a 2.5% dilution and Megs recommend a 0.25% concentration:eek: so I always though I was going a bit OTT anyway.

I reckon you're making up a roughly 1 in 3 or 1 in 4 dilution with 2.5" of chemical. I'm sure it's quite safe as the chemcals are relatively gentle, but it would work out quite expensive for me as I'm currently washing cars 6 times per week:( and foaming them up with the three bucket (Rolls Royce Chauffeur School) method is the fastest way I know of washing a car.

The fastest method nowadays is using Optimum no rinse , i can do my Superb in 15-20 minutes , washed dried and hoovered

Interesting product. I'll get some and give it a go. In the summer, when you just get the 'dusty' I could see it being a good system. I'm not sure about in the winter, but I think you need to keep an open mind and try everything once at least.

only if the car has been somewhat neglected... and really dirty, otherwise it'd be less... it could actually be less ive not been paid the most attention, but i found a combo that works when the car is in need of a definate pre-wash before hand

ill take more of a note next time, oh and i only used just over half the bottle as well :)

does that mean you're using it at 50:50?

I tried my new snow foam gear on Saturday.

CYC lance with 3cm of Valet Pro PH Neutral Snow Foam and a blob of Gold Class shampoo in warm water produced lovely thick foam with a decent dwell time
