Bay Horse Motors

Featured Replies

Hi all

Just for information, Bay Horse Motors / Fownhope in Hereford appear to have gone bust.

So the nearest Skoda shop will be Worcester or Ludlow ...

Hi Ricko, you may have noticed me in and around Hereford in a Red Fabia vRS that is cosmetically standard apart from seat surgeons leather retrim :)

Shame about Bay Horse Motors but they were never that great anyway. Worcester were even worse! If I ever need a Skoda dealership I take the car out for a drive and see Faintree Garage in Bridgnorth who thus far have been faultless for us in the 10 years we have been dealing with them :).

Hi

Never tried Faintree ... I pass through Bridgnorth on occasion on my way to Wolves, but not that often.

For service I never used Bay Horse anyway, just bought the cars there and then some parts on occasion

Last couple of times I've used Ned Potter who seem fine and have built a nice new workshop (about 18 months ago)

I guess someone else might pick up the franchise

Hey guys, anyone in the Hereford area can recommend where I can get my Fabia vRS serviced now Bay Horse are gone.

I always found them ok. Terry and the guys, girls were always very friendly and helpful.

Charlotte was gorgeous, what a loss. :(

Someone mentioned to me there is someone out towards Ledbury who has taken over the franchise. Any news on that?

I used to work for these guys, great service and parts, not too far from Hereford either, defo worth the trip:

Funnily enough, it looks like Bay Horse are coming back, with most of the same bunch

Case of go bust, lose debts, start again ?

As mentioned before, I'm using Ned Potter now, similar prices to dealer but nicer to deal with and knowledgeable : Ned Potter, Hereford UK - Service Department

do you know if bayhorse is still going to do warrenty work?

I'm in Ross and had all my services (90k miles) over the last 5 years done at Winners

I'd thoroughly recoommend them. They were typically £50 cheaper per service that Bay Horse (Mk1 Octy vRS).

Hi Ricko, have you heard anymore info/gossip about Bay Horse and if they are going to reopen?

Thx

Bay Horse are back in business under new owners but according to Skoda Approved Retailer List they are no longer an approved service agent.

I found their customer service quite poor and they didn't seem to know what they were talking about. I'm having problems with my Octy VRS (07 plate) steaming up inside which it has done since brand new, they kept saying it was normal and i knew damned well that it's not. They finally decided there was a problem with the door seals but went bust on the day it was due to go in...

Still looking for someone local who can do the Warranty work. My main problem is that (according to Bay Horse) the door sealing procedure takes several days (which i assume is drying time for the sealant), so taking the car to Worcester or Gloucester leaves me stranded...

Faintree Garage (Bridgnorth) resealed my rear doors in 45 minutes. No several day wait! And they're bone dry even now, 2 and a bit years on.

Bay Horse said the car shouldn't be driven for at 24hrs after being resealed. Mind you, i've just discovered that the last service they did (in May) charged me for an oil change which i expected to be done as standard, yet the service book clearly has the 'no' box ticked next to 'engine oil change'. Not a happy bunny.

I would hope that the parts of the doors that are sealed do not flex during driving, haha :D

Well according to the 'technicians' at Bay Horse (previous to going bust), the doors DO flex - and that is why it would need to be stationary for 24hrs. Think i might try Winners, Startins or Bamfords - any recommendations?
