uneven wear

Featured Replies

Hi there any advice orhelp would be nice

Bought my car nearlly a year ago now when i purchased it the car had 2 new bottom arms put on.All things have been fine but now when i go over a speed bump you can hear i noise like squeaking frm the front end and i have noticed that my front tyres are wearing on the outside edge does anyone have any idea or had similar problems please many thaks.

The squeaking could be the front anti roll bar. The bushes are well known for wearing and then squeaking or knocking.

As for the outside edges of the tyres wearing, i would suggest a wheel alignment check first and then just make sure you are running the correct pressures in your tyres.

You could check to see if you have any movement in the suspension or steering by putting the front of the car on axle stands and giving the wheels a shake to see if you have any excess play from any direction.

Hope this helps.

Kind Regards

Garry

Squeaking - probably ARB bushes or radiator mounts. Try rocking the radiator back and forward to find out which.

Otherwise I agree with Garry about what to do, but not the order.

Tyre pressures first, then suspension bushes, then alignment, cos if pressures or bushes are out that can knock out the alignment.

I would do as Ken suggested :D
