superb service interval

Featured Replies

had my superb tdi 130 tiptronic (55 plate) since october and been trouble free - bought it at 78k with cambelt service just done. service indicator now telling me that 500 miles from service (assume that it is on a 10,000 interval - as car stands at 87,500!)

anyone out there keen to let me know what will be done at the next service. i am english living in germany and not looking to be fleeced by the local garage - not a franchised dealer but a nice bloke who speaks english and my german, though adequate is not sufficietly good to talk motors and parts (the key to successfully fleecing the military communuity over since ww2!!!!

i think it is simply filters, fluids etc but looking for confirmation - re-gas on the aircon may well be needed i think - not as icy as it could be.

thanks in anticipation

phil

You have all things to do outlined in the thin "Skoda Superb Service Schedule" booklet usually packed together with the car's service book in the slot underneath steering column.

But mainly replace oil, replace oil/air/fuel filters, inspection of brakes / pads and CV boots, possibly replace pollen filter too. If brake fluid was replaced according to schedule, you need to replace it this year too (mid-2005-mid2007-mid2009). I recommend DOT5.1 fluid, same as DOT4 but boils at much higher temperature - a must if using uprated pads. Do NOT confuse with sillicone DOT5 (blue).

Check battery levels, grease the all locks lock mechanisms and door hinges with Wurth HHS (they'll know in Germany :-), and check also windscreen wipers and check/replace if needed light bulbs in all lights.

Edit: I assume that coolant got replaced during timing belt change (typically water pump is replaced too). Worth checking, if water pump was not replaced, then the coolant should also be replaced after 4 years.

Speaking of bulbs, in the Superb on high beams, I find Osram Nightrbreakers H3 phenomenally good compared to either Philips Premium+30 or stock Osrams. I put them in a couple of weeks ago, and finally my Superb's high beams can match the MkI Octavia (H1) ones.
