Removing the centre console

Featured Replies

I,ve got a rattle in the centre console, near the handbrake, on my Fabia VRS.

Has anyone had a go at removing the centre console yet?

Pull out the plastic cubby hole towards the rear of the console and you'll be graced with two hex screws, remove these, careful not to drop them (I did and it's a bugger to get the back) and the console should lift enough for you to be able to investigate the cause.

Strange. I had that very same problem, but it seemed to go into self rectification mode 3 months ago, and hasn't done it since.

Thinking about it I did have a similar issue but found out that it was the passengers seat belt holder tapping against the centre console, small piece of adhesive sponge and problem resolved.

Des you are a star!!!

Just been out to have a look at the problem and sure enough the passenger seat belt holder is rattling on the centre console. I can even see where it's marked the plastic over the last couple of days. That's saved a disassembly job from hell.

Thanks chaps. Peace and quiet is once again restored.
