The Silver carpet near the big A pedal

Featured Replies

I just got my Octavia VRS, so far way impressed with the comfort and speed, among other things!

BUT- I think I'll get the carpet dirty, has anybody found a solution to stop the bit near the Accelerator pedal getting dirty? I seem to rest my foot there at junctions, My golf had a black palstic guard there.

any ideas?

thanks,

Andrew (oh and its an 03 if that means anything)

I think the solutions that have been used far are:

1) Try cleaning it with Simoniz Teflon cleaner;

2) Fit plastic sheeting over the carpet (under the mat) - done by funkyjutel and Stopanij; and

3) Replace carpets with black ones - done by Huck.

Im afraid I haven't done any of these and have very dirty carpets :rolleyes::D

Somewhere on this site you will find a link to Milotec's website. One of the Octavia accessories shown is a footplate (to match the pedals on the RS) that seems to sit over the offending section of carpet that gets dirty. Might be worth a look..... :thumbup:

I'd be careful that the Milotec matching dead pedal isn't for a LHD car (which are obviously v different)

For an explanation please see the R32 dead pedals available in LHD and RHD form on VAGparts website here http://www.vagparts.co.uk/

And here

Don't ask me how I know this :rolleyes:
