Lambda probe after the Catalyser

Featured Replies

Hi,

I have a 2004 Mk1 Octavia. 1.6 75Kw engine. Engine code BFQ. It's done now 188K KM's

I was told my mechanic that the Lamda probe is shot after the catalyser.

Is the Lambda probe the same as before the catalyser or are there two different types?

Chrz in advance for any answers,

Chris

They are usually different types.

they are different (don't get them the wrong way round:O)

the one after the cat basically feeds back info that the cat is actually working iirc

the fault with the second lamba could be showing fault with the cat

Hi,

Thanks for the answers. I promise I won't get them mixed up.:o

Polish Dealer price is around 821 PLN , so around 150 quid. Is it worth to see on Ebay or Polish equivalent?

I run on LPG. Could this have caused it to go, or is it just wear and tear do you think?

Is there a risk that the cat could be on it's way out too? Would an error appear on the VAS diagnostics for the CAT? It only showing the lambda probe after the cat as not functioning.
