Countdown to my Octy II vRS has begun!

Featured Replies

So the Fabia vRS goes tomorrow evening, all being well. I am pushing the dealer to have the new car ready to collect on Thursday Pm, failing that it will be Saturday - can't wait!!!

Car is a Octy II vRS PD170 in Corrida Red

58 plate (September I think)

9k miles

front and rear sensors

jumbo

maxidot

climate

cuise

all the airbags (6?)

electric rear windows

xenons

18" zeniths on Conti Sport 2's

Also ordered a rubber boot liner and set of vRS mats as none with it - no fair!

A couple of busy weekends ahead but will find some time to drive and wash it no doubt but the full detail won't be till mid July (after the Briskoda national meet), will be worth it though :D

Pics to follow when I can!

Cheers

Pick up is now Weds AM (1st July) a little longer than first planned but hey ho, will be worth it!!

That's a nice colour, don't think I have seen that on the roads much, suits the car.

It's alright, I suppose.

;)

Very impressive spec list you have there

They do look very nice in red I must admit

Enjoy it mate

Cheers

Damian

Dont really see many red hatches, if I do ever see a red one, it always seems to be an estate, very nice looking car ;)

pick the car up early tomorrow - can't wait!!

collected the car this morning - awesome! driven around and sorted stuff out in it tonight ready for first work trip tomorrow so a chance for its to strectch its legs and also try out the cruise!!

great service by Meadens of Sway in Hampshire, in particular Tom Sexton, very impressed all round - not a patch on Westover Skoda in Dorset who dont compare at all, well worth the 50 odd mile round trip a few times to research, test drive and then collect the car.

incidently I was told today including mine, they had sold all there vRS stock now, which must be 8 or so last month and they have no more so are buying in all the available 'free stock' of the SE Octavia in various guides, hatch and estate, some derv some petrol, if anyone is after one.

Photos to follow of my new pride and joy when I get a chance! See many of you at the national meet at Gaydon.

Great stuff Ryan

Enjoy!

Steve

Nice one Ryan. I might be following the same path - Fabia VRS to Octy VRS - so would be very interested to know how they compare. Eg. what's the ride like compared to the Fabia, and the performance?

There's a few of us that have already followed, and are some way down, that path ;)

well 200 miles today in only what is day 2 with the car.

main things i have noticed is the road noise is greater over thge fabia but thats as expected plus more so on the horrid concrete sections of motorway down here!

ride is firmer, even over the koni/fsd setup I had, but thats the 18s for you. ok on the motorway just round town.

gear change needs a little more force/pressure wheras the fabia could almost be flicked through the gears with one or two fingers!

the throttle pedal is a bit weird to get used to but I will in time

the mesh style fabric on the middle of the seat made me hotter than the fabric in the fabia - mind you it was 32 degrees today!

got 40 mpg on a run today, but was very hot and climate on all the time and some heavy traffic.

enjoyed the cruise and seating position and arm rest etc

all good so far!

Glad your enjoying the car

Get a Neuspeed shortshifter to sort out the gearchange

It really is just a flick of the wrist

You dont even have to move your arm off the jumbo box :D

Fantastic mod IMHO

Cheers

Damian

All fair points raised there Ryan - good mini review

I've noticed a bit more road noise, but then I reckon I need revised alignment settings applied anyway! Gearchange I agree with you on too.

Not as much ride compliance compared with an FSD'd Fabia is there? :)

Cheers,

Steve

What do you mean by 'compliance' Steve?

Was referring specifically to damper rebound; I think that's where I can feel the std setup if deficient, compared with the FSD setup of my previous Fabia :)

The car seems a little less composed and planted.

Steve

But how does an Octy with FSDs compare to a Fabia with FSDs? Are you comparing like for like? Either way, glad you are enjoying the new ride ryand!

Comparing previous cars with current cars - well that's what I was doing anyway :)

Steve

I'm seriously thinking of taking advantage of the FSD offer on at Awesome at the mo anyway as the ride is a tad clunky on OEM, just need to check insurance doesn't go too much up on top of the current mods.
