squeaky central locking

out of the blue the drivers side rear door lock mechanism has started squeaking when plipped open/closed using the keyfob

is this a simple fix with a squirt of wd40? (and if so where?) or does it require taking the door apart for some internal bit to be lubricated i.e. back to the dealership?
