I have a problem with my 05 1.9TDi PD ambiente Octy that's now driving me mad I wondered if anyone has any ideas. The oil pressure lamp keeps lighting and I get the 3 bleeps. I have had the oil pressure checked at a dealers and I was told it was ok. I have changed the pressure switch in the filter housing (twice!). The car was originally on the flexible servicing but I had decided to change to fixed servicing. The dealers believed the problem may have been because the servcing type had not been changed and it was seeing the wqrong oil. When they changed to fixed for me the problem cleared for a whole day ,not on once but then returned. I have VAGCOM and have checked it is on the correct setting still. I have recently noticed the fault only appears above 1500 rpm, but apart from that is totally random. Any ideas gratefully received before I spend out more money at the dealers.

I'd be getting the sump dropped, the oil strainer cleaned and the pump checked myself.

It might cost a couple of hundred, but you've checked all the obvious points and i'd say the pressure must be dropping at some point and an explanation for this could be gunk in the strainer which partially blocks the oil flow at certain times and means the oil pump can't pump enough oil.
