Not too long to wait now , then enjoy.

Thats exactly like mine!!! Had mine nearly 2 months now and I still have a huge grin on my face when I tap the accellerator pedal. You are gonna love it.

How many miles on it? Reason I ask is mine needed a 60k service straight away which came to £500.:thumbdwn:

Very nice!!!

Bet it won't stay standard for long though...:)

It looks a very tidy car

Congrads and Welcome

Peter

Cheers guys....

Its done 70k and has had full service and cam belt changed along with pads and tyres so I'm hoping the only expense initially will be for a remap

Unfortunately I will need to fit a tow bar for camping at some point :thumbdwn:

Chose black because I think its the best colour and it should also hide the tow bar more than a silver car would.

Not long now!!

Looks very tidy.

If your getting a tow bar get a genuine Skoda swan neck one. The electrics flip up and the swan just slots out so its invisable. Heres mine detached.

Wow how much though?

I picked one up on Fleabay for £25

You just wanted to show off that glossy shine didnt you............

LOL

Good luck with it mate, i got the same car, only problem with black is that you've gotta keep it clean! ;) on another note, enjoy this website, it's pretty dangerous though, if like me you have plenty of ideas for your car, with little cash!

Picked the beast up yesterday and cant stop smiling!! Its totally standard and is easily the the fastest and most enjoyable car I have ever owned. Love it!!!

It is an amazing car to drive. Best thing I found is it is as easy to drive fast as is it is slow. Being a family man, it is nice not having to floor it every time. I can only imagine the power available from modified cars.

I've had a couple of days to play with it and have noticed a few things. When the car is started from cold it revs to 1000rpm for about a minute and then I can hear a tapping sound from somewhere in the bonnet. Knowing very little about turbo's is it something to do with that?

Also under heavy breaking, especially when turning the steering wheel judders that much I cant keep hold of it. I presume this will be warped discs or pads as it squeals as well! Also gave it a wash and wax and despite me having to spend money on it I still love it. Until I get a massive bill :)

The first thing you mention is the secondary air system which it does for cold starting. Just leave it for (almost exactly) 90 seconds and the revs will drop to just under 1000 revs, then pull away. You can pull away before but I find mine judders a bit unless I let it warm up for the 90 seconds.

The rattling at cold start could either be the fuel injectors ticking (which is normal), the charcoal cannister (which is normal) or possibly the rivets are loose on the secondary air pump which is a simple fix by replacing the rivets with small bolts (do a search on here for a guide with pictures). Might be worth starting it from cold with the bonnet up then trying to pinpoint where the rattling is coming from.

The steering wheel judder under heavy braking is probably just the ABS kicking in, if the discs were warped it would judder under medium braking too, but if you're not sure then get the discs checked and replaced if necessary

If you do get the discs changed get the run out on the hub checked too or you could be wasting you cash on the discs.
