So ive been ringing around for my service:

55 plate 47k major service plus a cambelt and waterpump change

Cheapest i found was £276 for the belt and pump and £140 for the major service at Volksparts in durham. good price???

Next cheapest was pulmans in durham £411 for belt and pump and 212 for the major service.

Most expensive was benfield skoda £500 for belt and pump and 299 for a service

Should i take it to the dealers to get the stamp or the indy?? very good price from the indy i thought.

or should i just get the service from the dealer and the belt from the indy??

Well at the age of your car I can't see the advantage of using a main dealer - good independant any day!

Does the Pullmans price include the 50% labour discount they were offering on this site?

If you're desperate to have it done at the dealers have you tried getting them to price match/discount the price?

I bought the bits myself and got it done at the dealer, try Newcastle TPS for prices on genuine stuff, they say only for trade but they sell to anybody, and you get good discounts on service stuff

I'm at the same point as you, with identical mileage and also want a full service and the cambelt and water pump doing.

The price seems pretty much spot on compared with what i was expecting.

Volksparts were spot on last time and i'd definitely use them again.
