Sticking revs- cr 170

Featured Replies

Hi I have a 2008 Octy vRS CR 170 and have noticed that recently as you stop at a junction, for example, the revs drop and stick around the 1000rpm mark even with the clutch fully depressed and foot off the throttle. If you blip the throttle or switch off and restart the engine the revs then drop to the normal idle speed of around 800 rpm. Dealer has had a look but "Computer says No !!!", what did we do before diagnostic computers???. Any ideas on what may be causing this?

DPF regen?

Agreed.

Please don't interrupt the process! Car needs to have it done within six attempts, else a malicious yellow light will start bothering you.

So, let it be done :)

mine usually does this as above on the dfp regen. when it does it I make sure I include a long run on the dual carriageway on my travels then its gone :)

Be carefull not to get this prob confused with a possible throttle pedal fault, we have fitted numerous pedals to octys for the same symptom, your dealer should be able to go into throttle angle position on there VAS machine and when the fault is on you will see the angle reading in percentage ( it obviously should read zero at idle but when fault is on it will give you a false reading) the prob your dealer will have is getting the fault to happen for them and also it wont bring a dtc up if it only just out . hope this all makes sense.

Thanks guys, I think you may have probably hit the nail on the head as it doesnt happen all the time so could well be the DPF. The car's done nearly 16k and has never done it previously, no warning lights etc. maybe I'm not driving it as hard these days!!!!
