Is it possible to disable the deadlock function so that door only locks and can be unlocked from inside? I have access to VDCS

lights on warning chime not working

sounds about right, don't think I will go to the cost and bother of changing door lock until it fails. -

The only wire starting to split is a fat red and white one, what does this control? -

2007 , I will disconnect and spray door loom connector with contact cleaner first, do you know the colour of the wire that might be broken, what is involved in replacing loom with a new (longer I believe) part? -

YES interior light comes on -
The warning chime that chimes if you leave the parking lights ( indicator left up or down) or lights on no longer chimes. Any ideas would it be the actual chime/ buzzer itself has failed is there another reason like relay failure? P.S I am waiting for the low fuel light to come on to see if the chime works for that

The n/s/r door lock began to not unlock with the central locking, you could hear it trying to work. I think I found a solution and that was above each door lock is a black grommet, I removed it and sprayed in copious amounts of graphite oil, and it seems the lock has freed up and now works. My question is are these grommets there for the purpose of lubricating the locks as I know rear lock failure was a problem on the MK1.

I have changed bush No2 a couple of times each side as they cannot stand the punishment of British road potholes I used original Skoda/VW replacements which are void bushes but I understand there is a Seat bush which is solid so lasts longer makes the steering feel more direct but at the expense of ride quality. I bought an extraction / replacement tool to do it and was relatively easy to do.

Here is yet another one do you think this design was ever use by VW/skoda? otherwise why would it exsist and other filter companies made a copy https://autoteile.check24.de/olfilter-4/meyle-filter-100-322-0007

What puzzles me is why two different manufacturers produce the same black design, and that the black design seems to "click" onto the stalk in the filter cap as if specifically designed to do so.

Just been there and the Polish oem brand Filtron looks exactly like the black version, strange that the two versions are so different. I had the car from new and am sure the original fitted was the same as the black version as I would have queried when fitting the crossland black version also check link to Eurocarparts https://www.eurocarparts.com/p/crosland-oil-filter-501440348

Will buy and fit a Mann HU710x to be sure.

One final point the black plastic capped version seems made for the cap and clicks onto the spindle when fitting or removing
