Felica petrol 1.3 heater controls given up the ghost

Featured Replies

Swmbo's felica has started to play up. The heater control unit over the past few months has not been putting out very hot air and no matter what fan speed it was set to it was a very light flow.

Now this week the unit doesn't put out any air at all. No flow of air and no noise of the fan blowing.

Any Ideas Briskodian's ???? Doing my research as you read.

Its just the manual 3 knob setup, no aircon.

Probably the fan motor that has gone. I had this with mine and squirted WD40 on it before trading it in just to keep it going. A more thorough idea might be to replace them.

I know the diesel heater unit is different but mine stopped working and I took out the motor, cleaned up the brushes and put it back and it's worked ever since. Been a few years now so quite a saving on a new motor.

A bump in the road or a sharp bend would sometimes start it up while it was failing. Sound anything like yours?

I have a spare fan motor lying around, let me know if you need it

Will let you know mate, going to take the motor out the weekend.

If shot, Ill buy it off you.

Cheers

If it doesn't run on any speed, I'd check the fuse, if not that then that there's power at the motor.

Service or replace motor if it has power, or fan switch if no power to motor.

Yeah I checked all the fuses, going to whip it out tomorrow.

The fan motors are different between the petrol and diesel models. With a bit of fettling it is possible to get a working petrol fan motor into a diesel.
