drivers side front window motor (with little circuit board) is buggered, cant find a superb one in thelocal breakers so was wondering if the passat ones are the same, anyone tried them?

I've not tried it, but as the front door pressings and glass are the same, it would be a fairly safe bet that the motor is the same.

Every other lousy detail from the Passat has found its way into the Superb...

The only way to tell is by the part number, as there can be software/coding differences between identical looking units.
