Service - 3yrs are up?

Featured Replies

My Tdi furby is due for it's 3rd service in the next month. Should I take it to my local dealer, or my trusted independent garage who I have used since I was 17?

MOT time aswell, so the warranty expires at the same time, I should add that last year a different branch of the same skoda chain used the wrong oil last time! I only found this out when I joined briskoda, and did some reading, thanks guys.

Looking like the independent garage at the moment, just wanted your thoughts!

An ideal time to trade up to a VRS, but would a non franchise service stamp make any difference when trading the car in? Might wait a year before I do this, service stamps have never been mentioned in previous deals, so I guess it won't make any difference.

Get the MOT done before the warranty expires just in case it uncovers anything which could be put right FOC under the warranty. As for servicing, all things being equal I would prefer to buy a secondhand car which comes with a full main dealer service history.

Hmm...

Having had experience of main dealer (Citroen and Skoda) and independent (Citroen) servicing, my money would be on the independent. But then, I've only had experience of a good independent and good or mediocre dealers.

You pays yer money, and you takes yer choice....

Good point made by Denis about getting the MOT done before the warranty expires ..............then take it to your trusted local independant garage for the service , rather than let the apprentice at the main dealer do it !
