I have asked around and none of the dealers i spoke to had heard of this and all said V4 is the latest even when giving the Part No.

I'd be surprised if its true giving that map updates are usually annually. Could be a money making scheme though but doubt it.

Anyone on here heard of anything

I had enough trouble getting dealers to admit there was a V4 of the maps - most of them wanted to sell me the "latest & greatest V3".

Updated maps are always a good thing.

However we all know that all somebody would need to is get a V4 disk, burn it with a file name with a higher number and Columbus would see it as a potential upgrade.

I'd say treat with caution for now.

Reading through the thread over at Vwnavi - maybe, just maybe :)

The V5 maps are based on the same map files as V4, so its most likely a bug fix release like the V3 was. The V5 maps are still based on Q4 2007.

I thought the V4 maps were based on Q4 2008, not 2007?

No V4 are Q4 2007

Older than I thought then - although they haven't caused me any major headache.

So if V4 are based on Q4 2007 then really we are due an update about now.
