Advice on buying a Fabia 1.9 TDi

Featured Replies

Hi,

I have seen a Fabia 1.9 TDi MY2001, for sale in Liverpool. The downside is that it has no service history, just wanted to know if there is anything I should look/hear for when buying one, or if there is someone in Liverpool willing to meet me and have a look at the car aswell (pm for details), I am planning on looking at the car tomorrow, late afternoon/early evening (before 6pm).

Thanks,

Chris

Hi, I got my vrs a few months ago now and it had hardly any service history. To me it wasn't an issue, however I know some people who wouldn't go near a car if it had no service history.. Each to there own I guess. I would defo recommend doing a hpi check before you go to possibly save you wasting your time, and maybe arrange for someone like the aa or rac to meet you there as they will check it over for a fee.

Good luck,

Kirk

If there's no service history then I would budget on getting a full service with all filters changed, brake fluid changed and the cambelt changed. This will not be a cheap service, but it will be cheaper than trying to fix the damage casued by a snapped cambelt!
