16 valve KR VW into Felicia 1.6

Featured Replies

Hi guys and girlsDoes anyone know if it is possible to fit the KR DOHC 16 valve engine from the MKII Golf / Corrado into a Felicia? Im planning this swop and at the same time changing from Injection to twin Webers, fast road cams, gas flowed head, etc. I would install the gearbox from the same car too.I am assuming Golf GTi rear disc brakes cn be adapted to fit the Felicia too? Obviously the front brakes would be upgraded to Golf GTi vented x drilled with EBC greenstuff pads.Am planning the build of a serious sleeper. Minimal body mods, basically smoothed and finished in black. Suspension will be dropped in the weeds with black / chrome minilite style rims! Any suggestions or advice would be greatly appreciated! Car will be stripped out to lose as much weight as possible too. I dont want to bend time just have a very cool looking, quick car!Cheers in advance!

I'm almost certain it's possible. There's a nearly finished 2.0l conversion on here, and one user who's got a 1.8T in a Fun.

You'll be doing a fair bit of development work as you go along though.

Would all the effort be worth it for for 150bhp?

Hi my son has put a Fiat uno turbo in to a Felicia with Golf VRS suspenion all round, hope to be at Gaydon on sunday, its bright orange, or contact 07710 747052 Russ,

The reason I was considering the KR power unit is that in 1.8 16v form in my Corrado, I found the car had ample power and great mid range torque. I am open to the suggestions of other engines that may work and the more tuneable the better.Quite like the idea of a Turbo Fiat lump, would be interested to see that. Is the engine stock or is it uprated in any way?

Tunable would be a 1.8 20v turbo...

I do like the sound a KR on carbs though!

it can be done.

just remember its NOT a vw platform, but there are some areas of compatibility.

the mk2 gti rear disks will fit, stub axel an all, but you'll have to make up a brake line to match.

as for the front, using the vw box is not gunna be easy as its very differant to the skoda box.

and another thing i'd suggest is armoring the feck out of the front wish-bones, and making your own coil-overs
