Lowering Springs Problem

Featured Replies

Just had my lowering springs fitted and when I got the car back every time I drive over a bump in the road the front springs make this weird clunking sound as if something is loose, and it happens on both sides. I took it up to the garage and the guy said it's probably because the springs were smaller and didn't need a compressor to fit them.. which didn't really help me lol. Just wondering has anyone else got this problem, or if it is actually a problem or not and is it safe to drive? Thanks.

Sounds like the springs are too short and have no load if the front bounces. This means the spring rate has been altered drastically and could result in some rather interesting mid corner antics if you hit a pothole.

get a spanner on your drop link nuts that might solve your problem the slightest play and the will make a horrid sound. This was the problem on mine and just a tiny nip up solved the problem.

Could also be your top mounts aren't done up tight enough
