Yellow Fabia Detailed

Featured Replies

I've been busy giving my car its "Spring Clean" detail, and getting it ready for the Gaydon meet tomorrow (errr - later today - I should be in bed)

Rather than spend a full weekend doing it - whenever I get a free one it seems to rain - I've done it bit by bit over the last month or so - a few hours at weekends and a few evenings.

Anyway the method and products were...

Washes at each stage including...

Karcher jet wash to remove loose dirt

Snow foam

Two bucket wash with lambswool mitt

50/50 mix of Rain-X Wash and Wax (with Carnauba Wax Beads) and Johnsons Baby Shampoo

Drying with MF cloth and Meguiars Last Touch

Wax removal with Virosol (diluted 2:1)

Wipe down with IPA

Clay with Bilt-Hamber Autoclay and water lubrication

Machine Polish with Kestrel DAS-6

Menzerna Intensive Polish on 3M green pad

Menzerna Final Finish Polish on 3M yellow pad

Poorboys EX-P sealant

Two coats of Dodo Banana Armour

Two Coats of Dodo Orange Crush

Megs Ultimate Quik Detailer

Carpets vacced with Henry and then Tesco Foam Upholstery Cleaner

Croftgate Leather Cleaner on the seats

Interior trim with Simoniz Back to Black Protector

Engine bay sprayed with Virosol and then jet-washed

Plastics protected with Simoniz Back to Black Protector

Engine Cover with Meguiars Hot Shine Tyre Gel

All door shuts cleaned with Megs Last Touch and MF cloth

Wheels removed, cleaned and given two coats of JetSeal 109

Windows cleaned with Stoner Invisible Glass

Exhaust with Solvol Autosol

No during pictures, but I got a few of the final results - about 5 mins before it started raining
