Hi Guys.

had a bit of a read around.. not really found anything directly relevant easily

Currently got a 08 1.9 TDI ambiente estate as a company car.. leaving the company at the end of the month and i've managed to pick up a 05 Octy Elegance for 5k.. 42k on the clock and only 2k was done on that car since may 08!

now my concern is.. cambelts, every 4 years/60k if i'm correct on a petrol?

is the 4 years just to make sure they are making the money out of you.. or is it actually quite important?

secound question, car comes with 1 key, i'm aware you can buy the parts and you can get keys cut for the car quite easily.. whats the deal with getting the keys coded to the car? or should i just pay up the £150 from the dealer?

cheers guys!

RIP Kitty :(

The cam belt is important, it's 4 years or 60k miles which ever comes first.

okies. i'll have a chat with my favourite garage man who's done the job on my dad's Passat for a fraction the dealer advised.

oh and the water pump at the same time ;)

never mess about with cambelt servicing. i normally do them a little ealier than the scheduled times. ive had one go on an older car and it resulted in a new engine being required, so i dont plan on doing that again
