Felicia 1.3 cutting out after a few miles

Featured Replies

HI, i have a 96' Felicia 1.3 everything seems ok no unusual noises or anything but after driving for a while the engine does like a sort of surge then cuts out shortly after, like its not getting enough petrol, i pulled off the petrol pipe and it seemed like a healthy spurt when i turn the engine over, it restarts and runs fine after its cooled down or ive got it towed home whichever comes first.

ive tried changing the leads, dist cap, plugs but its still doing it, ive looked all round the engine but cant seem to find anything wrong, ive had a diagnostic scan done with code 00515 as the only thing showing but i noticed someone say that that code always shows if its diagnosed with the enging not running, wich it wasent, i did check out the hall sensor it was slightly dented on the end with like iron filling stuck to it so i cleaned it up and put it back in.i went round the block and it seemed ok but i didnt want to go too far as it does go ok for a few miles then cuts out.

do you think i should have it retested with the enging running or must there be another fault?

im disabled and cant afford a garage bill right now so if anyone has some ideas id be very greatfull to hear them.

thermostat housing tab broken off inside allowing parts loose inside, anyone have an idea if this could be the prob?

It could be a coil or ignition module it seems to be its loosing its spark when it gets hot. if it is one of the above units this is the way it would be. the next time it does ot test for s spark.
