URGENT 1.3 Felicia Clutch Change

Featured Replies

Hiya,

just chnaged the clutch on a 2000 1.3 felicia and have gone to put the drive shafts back into the transmission and there appears to be about a 5mm gap between the shoulder of the shaft (drivers side) and casing where there was no gap before. Ive hit it with a lump hammer but there is a definate contact inside the casing preventing the shaft shoulder from locating against the trans wall. There is still a seal between the shaft and the trans and the circlip appears to be working and locking the shaft in place so I intend to just leave it. Have you encountered similar problems whilst doing a clutch change?

We leave in two days to begin the Mongol rally so a prompt response would be really appreciated!

Cheers,

has one of the diff sun gears falen into the casing?? bad news if it has...

do you mean the shoulder of the cv joint casing or the splined part that goes through the seal?

I think it is the CV casing, it is a small thin metal disc (like a jam jar lid with a hole in it) with a hole that the spline part is put through.

We have put it all together and driven it with the metal discs hanging slightly loose. Do you think that will be a massive problem??

yeah, that's exactly what i thought it would be, those little discs always fall off, dont worry about it all it will do is rattle a little bit
