I have got myself a set of SMD LED sidelights.

Now i have heard people talking about disabling bulb failure warnings.

Is this possible with VCDS for the side lights and if so how?

I haven't fitted these yet but just wondered if it was possible rather than having to return the lights

I think your a bit stuffed tbh Carl.

It is possible to buy the correct bulbs or you need to add a resistor to allow the bulb failure systems current to flow.

You could always use them inside the cabin.

Yup just found out that they don't work

Was worth a try as they were only £6.50 delivered against £20 for ones with resistors.

Will change back when it stops pi55ing it down and see where i can use the bulbs in the cabin as already have Blue LED's in all the lights

That's a shame. Pop them up for sale as LED maplight bulbs

I'd have them for that use, but I used BlueVisions in there already

I have two LED ones from autobulbs and they have small resistors in the casing, so I'm just tyring to work out if that is enough to make the warning not come on.

Carl, you did put them in the right way round didn't you? Unlike normal w5w, the LED ones will only work in one direction as they are diodes.

Yup tried them every which way. They didn't light up full stop if they were in the wrong way
