Front pads for 1.2 12v AZQ (2005) Est Classic

Featured Replies

Looking to replace front pads. Looking to order online from Euro car parts, but there are a 3 types at different prices. Can anyone confirm which ones to get. They are ATE and either for Lupo/Polo, Golf Mk4 or Golf Mk4 with wear indicator.

All three match against my model. I ideally want to get them before taking the old ones out to avoid faffing about.

Does anyone know ?

First off they won't have a wear indicator, that takes it down to a choice of two. On the more information tab, you will see a box that details the dimensions which has PR numbers in it. If you look at the data sticker for your car, which can be found in the service book or on the boot floor, you'll see all the PR numbers that your car has. If you match them up, you should get the correct ones.

TBH, by the time you add VAT and P&P, Eurocarparts GSF etc are almost as expensive as Skoda dealer parts, so why bother? (you can ask your dealer to price match if you want, I know my dealer will knock up to 30% off if hes in a good mood)

If you desperately want good quality but really cheap pads, look up you local Delphi stockist who will stock E90 approved pads.

My Fabia comfort 1.2 AZQ 2004 had FSIII calipers fitted. the word FSIII is cast into

the calipers. There are 3 different manufacturers of calipers/discs fitted to Fabias, FSIII, Bosch and Lucas, dependent on engine/model.

Remember to measure the disc thickness, if its close to or less than the minimum thickness specified (stamped on the hub -19mm in the case of FSIII parts), you need new discs too. Also badly grooved discs should be replaced.

Also remember brake fluid should be changed every 2 or 3 years.....
